Okay, so David Guetta has long been my favorite electronica artist.

Last year he came to Beta (a nightclub here in Colorado) and I missed it because of MFF.

This year...

I got an e-mail notification he'll be at Beta again, and I was excited -- "holy shit, I can actually catch it this time!" Except... then I saw the date: December 3rd. And the e-mail was sent December 4th?!?!?!

Why the fuck do they even bother sending me a notification for the one thing I don't want to miss, after I've ALREADY MISSED IT?

Ugh.

Yeah sure I could have been dilligent and gone to Guetta's website to check tour dates and such, but I'm pretty disappointed.

Well, somehow I managed drop my phone into a full cup of water; completely submerging it. Naturally, I took it out and tried to dry it off as fast as I could, and amazingly, it seemed to still work at first. Then I guess the water worked its way further in, and things started malfunctioning until I couldn't even turn it on anymore.

When I opened the battery compartment, I saw a peculiar red sticker which I soon learned is a water damage indicator. If that sticker turns red, the warranty is void. Well, great.

Considering my warranty was already void, I decided to try my best to open it up and dry it out.

It took me about 2 hours, but I disassembled the damned thing down to the smallest parts I could, patted everything dry and used compressed air, and re-assembled it.



It actually f***ing worked!

My phone seems to be good-as-new, and I'm extremely relieved.

Just recently I was posting about a Lady GaGa sound-alike while we're "waiting for her next album."

Apparently her next album came out 4 days later?!?!

Anyway, there are some kickass tracks on The Fame Monster :P

Who's going to FC?

I've got a room reserved and estimate about a 70% chance of going. Knowing who else will be there might help increase that chance :P

Enough people have been asking me about commissions lately to make me seriously think about taking a few. If people really want one enough to pay for it, I could always use some extra money while I'm between jobs.

But now the real question is... how much should I charge?

Assuming the commissions would be on par with the last 3 pieces I've done in complexity and quality (at least as good as the worst of those 3), what would be a fair price?

Apologies to anyone who's watching the fursuitdancing community and seeing this twice.

I made a last-minute decision before MFF to do some surgery on my footpaws and put some real shoes in them so I can finally get a good grip on the dance floor. The difference was amazing!

Also, for the first time I've got some great clear footage of me dancing at a con thanks to jimwolf24. Enjoy!

Is it just me, or is Cascada's "Evacuate The Dancefloor" an incredibly blatant style rip-off of Lady GaGa?

Cascada has generally had a very predictable sound in the past, but this sounds nothing like their usual. Instead, the percussion AND one of the synths sound like they were pulled straight from "Just Dance". Even the singing seems to lean toward GaGa's style. To top it all off, there's an uncharacteristic rap interlude; the one last piece they needed to complete the same formula of the popular GaGa tracks.

Though I have to admit really like the track. Despite the style similarities, the song itself doesn't seem like a repeat of anything I've heard before. It's nice to hear more GaGa sound (even if it isn't really) while I wait for her next album.

WOW!

It's only been 12 hours since I posted my last pic on FA, but it's already got more favorites than anything else I've ever posted.

Another submission was at the top for more than a year. It was a bit discouraging that I had never surpassed it (in popularity) no matter how much I thought I was improving. Now I have, and by quite a lot when you factor in the time.

I'm seriously freaking excited about this :P

It seems like the majority of the time I sit down to draw, I just can't make anything decent come out. Everything looks like a small kid drew it in crayons.

First I thought maybe I just need to take breaks between drawings to refresh myself or something, but I don't think that's it.

Maybe it's something to do with biorythms? I'd really like to figure out some way to deduce when I'll be in the right state of mind to draw best.

I'm still struggling with this one picture I started trying to draw more than a month ago.

I decided to try some very different approaches from my usual... Maybe I'm getting somewhere, but it needs a lot of work x_x

I love winter and the surrounding cold months, really I do. Only problem is this time of year gets me thinking lonely thoughts a lot more than in warm weather.

I'm keeping those thoughts under control by telling myself I'm going to focus on the things that are important to me one at a time, starting with this game I'm developing.

Once the game is done, I can start trying to seriously improve my music production and work toward getting an album published.

Once that's done, I can start working on improving my art and trying to make a name for myself in the furry fandom.

Once those are all done, then maybe I'll have enough going for me that I won't feel worthless when I get rejected in romantic pursuits.

Goddamn I miss The Castle so much right now.

It was the first club I ever went to, and I would go with up to 7 friends at a time; this was when I actually had a kickass social life. I danced my ass off so many times and loved it.

It was the first place I drove to by myself when I got my driver's license. I was terrified, but working up the balls to go in really changed my life.

I've been to clubs here in Colorado but it's just not the same. I almost want to fly back over to South Carolina just for a night of clubbing, but I know it would be financially unwise.

Maybe I'll find another club I can enjoy that much some day. I hope so.

Snow is no news to most of you, but I still think it makes for some nice scenery. When else does it look this bright outside at 3AM?

Now I just wish I had an excuse to go fursuiting in it; preferably with a group!

Meanwhile, I'm trying to focus on this game development so there probably won't be much art, music, or socializing for a while. MFF will be a nice break.

Wheeee, just booked my flight for MFF :P

I'll be getting there Thursday afternoon and leaving Monday morning.

I still haven't given up on that thing I said I was drawing more than a week ago; I'm just taking my time to make sure it comes out right.

Normally I don't aid in peoples' marketing efforts, but this this one is a winner.

They probably require you to create an account, but I've used the site before and they seem pretty trustworthy.

After a long hiatus I tried to start over on what I was drawing. I spent several hours on it and found myself yelling "I HATE YOU SO MUCH" at the drawing. Not a good sign.

Maybe what I need is not just time between drawings, but to draw things that are deliberately low-stress / low-quality / low-expectation to relax myself a bit.
